The
AUTOGIRO ist a single-axis interferometric fiber optic
gyroscope intended for use as a sensor for dead-reckoning in
terrestrial navigations systems. The device measures angular
rotation rate and allows accurate determination of vehicle turning
angle. The AUTOGIRO model 3ARG-D provides a digitized
output of the incremental turning angle in a serial asynchrnonous
format.
