Mit der erfolgreichen Einführung der neuen Systemfamilie Placer 450/455 DR hat der weltgrösste Hersteller von GPS-Empfängern, Trimble Navigation, eine neue, sehr preiswerte Seite aufgeschlagen. Das System ist wahlweise in unterschiedlichen Versionen erhältlich mit / ohne Differential-Input, mit / ohne MAP-27 Protokoll für Speedcom Einbindung, mit / ohne Dead Reckoning-Sensor zur Überbrückung von Satelliten-Empfangsausfällen etc. Die RS-232 Schnittstellen sind frei programmierbar für NMEA, TSIP (Trimble Standard Interface Protokoll) oder TAIP (Trimble ASCII-Interface Protokoll) und für DGPS-RTCM-104 Input. Für jede Möglichkeit steht ein sep. Port zur Verfügung! Die Placer-Produkpalette hat für alle Bedürfnisse eine interessante Lösung bereit und bietet für einen attraktiven Preis, inkl. Dead Reckoning-System eine ausgezeichnete Möglichkeit, selbst in stark überbauten Gebieten, Städten und Tunnels problemlos navigieren zu können.
Das Placer Dead Reckoning System ist u.a. bei der Swisscom, beim BAKOM und NOKIA für GSM-Feldstärkemessungen in der Schweiz im Einsatz.
